The Bomb
We got distracted by another cool idea that took shape, out of the blue, last night. It’s an uptempo piece, and I even have a theme for it. It’s most likely going to be an “apocalyptic breakup song”. It even made it to our Big Foam Board #1. The perhaps temporary lyrics “activate the missile launch” were overheard in the chorus section. This could be epic!
We also really owe everyone another podcast. It’s coming soon.

Seriously, I’d like to do some sound effect type stuff in our recordings. I thought about maybe recording the bells at Ferdinand, or maybe just record my old car starting. And, you know, throw it in there somewhere.
On the apocalyptic theme, it’s more like one of those self-help/relationship guides: “Advice On Dumping Megalomaniac Billionaires With Nukes”

I like your proposed title. Nothing says you’re the apple of my eye like ‘megalomaniac’. If the song doesn’t pan out, perhaps you could pitch this idea to Hallmark. They are always looking to enter new niche markets for Valentine’s Day cards.

Perhaps there could be an audio layer in the background that hosts the Southern Yodel made famous by Slim Pickens in “Dr. Strangelove”
OR
You could add an audio layer with some grit, some scratch
Since that film was b/w and on real film: grainy with random dust and hairs streaming by the lens
Something that indicates a flaw, a fingerprint, that ever satisfying evidence that this was handmade and not created in a vacuum.

One more, if this song makes its way up to the cover of the album, may I suggest you make an inventory list for the inside flap: “A Survivor’s Guide to Post-Apocalyptic Style and Housekeeping.” 10 Things for the Pantry (including iodine tablets), 3 things for the nightstand (including .44 magnum with laser sight), and 5 things for ‘grab and go’ suitcase in case of ‘Zombie Invasion’ (including a royal blue jogging suit with embroidered family crest)
