Moving at a Glacial Pace….

Slow and steady wins the race. That said, I think we finished our bit on Karl Miles’ song, Stranded.

The podcast will go up as soon as Mike sends me the mp3.  We’ve been spinning our wheels lately, so we are moving forward on developing a couple of sketches into full songs.

By the way, in case Andrea’s checking this out, here’s Mucca Pazza performing at the Empty Bottle in Chicago:

Possible themes for songs, blog titles and prototype Slushee drinks:
Inspired by your description of your production speed as a ‘Glacial Pace’
I would like to submit the following terms that struck me as possible, nay probable fodder for your work.
The Glacial Pace term list:
Snowball Earth- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snowball_Earth
‘Why the water is blue’ The blue color is actually created for the same reason that water is blue, that is, its slight absorption of red light due to an overtone of the infrared OH stretching mode of the water molecule [1].
chatter marks- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chatter_mark
‘rock flour’ - makes water appear turquoise
Rock http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_flour

So, plug in that AMP and “Feldspar, Feldspar ON”

This term you used ‘glacial pace’ sparked a creative idea in me. Perhaps you should consider other ‘glacial terminology’ as creative jumping off points for your work. Here are some suggestions.
1- Snowball Earth. a hypothesis as it was originally proposed[1] suggests that the Earth was entirely covered by ice during parts of the Cryogenian period, from 790 to 630 million years ago.
2- Rock flour- (aka Glacier Milk) consists of clay-sized particles of rock, generated by glacial erosion or by artificial grinding to a similar size. Because the material is very small, it is suspended in river water making the water appear cloudy. If the river flows into a glacial lake, the lake may appear turquoise in color as a result.
3-Erratic -A rock of unspecified shape and size, transported a significant distance from its origin by a glacier or iceberg and deposited by melting of the ice. Erratics range from pebble-size to larger than a house and usually are of a different composition that the bedrock or sediment on which they are deposited.
4. Chatter Marks-A series of small, closely spaced, crescentic grooves or scars formed in bedrock by rocks frozen in basal ice as they move along and chip the glacier’s bed. The horns of the crescent generally point down glacier.
5- Bergy Seltzer-A crackling or sizzling similar to that made by soft drinks or seltzer water but louder. The sound made as air bubbles formed at many atmospheres of pressure are released during the melting of glacier ice. Also called Ice Sizzle.

Thanks for that, JD. I really like “Bergy Seltzer”….look for it as the title of a future podcast.

Question for you: did you just get several pounds of Intelligentsia coffee in the mail? That was one heckuva response. :D

um, yes. Yes I did. Although to my credit, I didn’t drink it all in one sitting. Come on down the holler. Well have a sipping party. Did I mention that we have a screened in back porch. It’s just itching for a nice smoke and coffee break.
